The first two photos show a negative hole, which was created by galvanising holes in Styrofoam. The idea was to create a visible hole, since normally a hole is defined by its boundaries.
During this project Nina tried to find a way to show the fading away of something existing and so leaving a hole in your life. As a conclusion she used soap around the pendant, which you can see in the third photo, when it comes in contact with water it will slowly melt away, and the silver pendant will be the only memory that the soap once existed.
The last image shows a necklace made out of used soap, which again symbolises the hole something leaves once it‘s gone.
Nina always used two completely different materials like soap and pearls; silver and wool.
